"Once you turn on your console and your game, you’re just immediately sucked into that world - just enjoying that atmosphere and experience in what it brings. Just talking through gaming is just nice. You just get to talk in the gaming world about life while switching off from the outside world. I feel like I can get things off my chest." - Callum, 18, Online Mentee
"I like playing the videogames and it’s very fun, and it’s nice to play games I don’t normally get to play. It feels nice to talk to someone - I like to just talk a lot. I can speak my mind which makes me feel better." - Cairo, 8, School Mentee.
We strongly believe in the power and effectiveness of mentoring young people, and providing them a safe space to share their thoughts, feelings, frustrations and experiences.
We believe that video games are a great way of forming community and relationships, and we use it as a tool to build important relationships between mentor and mentee. Just like any other mentoring activity such as playing pool, kicking a ball around, or having a chat over a hot drink, this is tailored to the young person's interests and personal tastes.
We do mentoring both in schools and also online through Discord and a game of the young person's choosing.
